The First Snowfall (music)
Trying to get back into writing music for fun again. My goal will be to post some more one-or-so minute pieces like this one every once in a while.
Anyways, here is today's post, which is "The First Snowfall." Inspired by that very very brief moment in a year when it starts to snow, and it actually looks beautiful (not long before it starts to build up, get dirty, and look much less appealing).

While I don't write fully orchestral music too often, it can be nice to go back in and refresh my orchestration skills, while updating my orchestra template in Logic. This time, I actually took the time to make sure everything was set up correctly, including all of the orchestra samples I have. I don't have much RAM on my computer, so when I save the template, I make sure to freeze all the existing tracks to prevent my DAW from crashing next time I open it. Managing frozen tracks like this can be a bit of a pain (and is part of the reason I don't write full orchestra music often), but I am glad it lets me use some of the heavier duty samples I have.
Shoutout to ALMAMPlayer for being an awesome MIDI Visualizer. And shoutout to BearBlog for hosting this post (and more to come).
